Lino Cannavacciuolo
Lino Cannavacciuolo is an Italian violinist, composer, and arranger from Pozzuoli whose musical language blends classical training, Mediterranean traditions, contemporary influences, and a constant exploration of new sounds. He began studying violin at the age of eleven and graduated from the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples under Giuseppe Prencipe and Angelo Gaudino. His professional career began in 1981 with Luca De Filippo’s theatre company, followed by significant artistic relationships with Peppe Barra and Roberto De Simone.
Over the years, Cannavacciuolo’s versatility has led him to collaborate with some of the most prominent figures in Italian music, including Pino Daniele, Lucio Dalla, Claudio Baglioni, Edoardo Bennato, and Adriano Celentano, while developing a distinctive voice rooted in Naples’ musical culture and the Mediterranean.
Alongside his work as a performer, he has built an extensive career as a composer and recording artist, creating music for theatre, cinema, and television and developing a solo catalog that explores the meeting point between tradition and contemporary musical languages. Works such as Segesta, Pausilypon, and Via Napoli reflect this ongoing dialogue between his cultural roots and a broader, evolving instrumental vision.
In 2026, Cannavacciuolo joined On Piano® for “Along the River (Violin & Piano Version),” released on MultiStyle Records, bringing his distinctive violin voice into dialogue with the project’s intimate, minimalist piano language.
